Industrial Commission awards more than $600,000 in latest Renewable Energy Program grant round
BISMARCK, ND – The North Dakota Industrial Commission, comprised of Gov. Kelly Armstrong, Attorney General Drew Wrigley and Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring, today approved $611,862 in Renewable Energy Program matching grants in the latest round of funding awards.
The Renewable Energy Program was established in 2007 to promote research and utilization of North Dakota’s renewable energy resources, including advanced biofuels. The grant program is funded by oil and gas production tax revenue.
The approved Renewable Energy Program projects include:
- $260,020 to Full Circle Innovations for the “Woody Biomass Utilization for Energy, Grid, and Manufacturing” project
- $351,842 to 4H2, Inc., for the “Direct Ethanol Fuel Cell (DEFC) Full System Development and Application Design for Field-Ready Demonstration” project
“These projects build on our state’s strengths in agriculture, energy and manufacturing while supporting technologies that have the potential to create new markets, attract investment and generate economic activity in North Dakota,” the Commission members said in a joint statement.
Any political subdivision, corporation, partnership, cooperative, association or consortium of such parties is eligible to apply for Renewable Energy Program funding. Funds must be matched by private dollars. The next application submission deadline is to be determined.
