Aniebo Etudor: Why Supply Chain Resilience Is Reshaping the Future of Energy
Global supply chain executive Aniebo Etudor explores how resilience, data, inventory and logistics are reshaping the future of energy operations.
HOUSTON, , TX, UNITED STATES, August 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- In an industry where a logistics delay can disrupt an entire operation, supply chain management has become far more than a back-office function. For Aniebo Etudor, a global supply chain executive with extensive experience across the energy sector, resilience, efficiency and data-driven decision-making are increasingly central to the future of oil and gas operations.
Etudor currently serves as Director, Integrated Supply Chain for Baker Hughes’ global Drilling & Completion Fluids business in Houston, Texas. In this role, he oversees end-to-end supply chain performance across sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, inventory and field delivery in a complex international operation.
His career spans Procter & Gamble, General Electric and Baker Hughes, with leadership experience across Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and North America. Throughout that journey, he has focused on transforming supply networks while improving service, reducing costs and releasing working capital.
“Supply chain is no longer simply a support function. In energy, it is directly connected to operational continuity, financial performance and long-term growth,” Etudor says.
One example of his approach came during his work in Sub-Saharan Africa, where he helped redesign a logistics network by shifting a significant portion of freight from air transportation to ocean transportation. The initiative reduced freight costs by approximately 50% while maintaining service performance at close to 90% on-time delivery.
For Etudor, the experience illustrates how supply chain transformation can come from rethinking existing networks rather than simply increasing investment.
“Sometimes the biggest opportunities are already inside the system. When you understand the entire flow, from suppliers to customers, you can identify alternatives that are faster, more efficient and more resilient,” he explains.
Inventory management has also been a major focus of his recent work.
At Baker Hughes, Etudor launched a long-term inventory strategy designed to increase inventory turns while improving cash generation. The initiative is projected to unlock approximately US$35 million to US$45 million in free cash flow.
He has also led sourcing and best-value-country strategies that generated more than US$25 million in product cost reductions, alongside initiatives involving vendor consignment and inventory redeployment that improved working capital.
“Inventory is not just a number on a balance sheet. Every dollar unnecessarily tied up in inventory is a dollar that cannot be used for growth, innovation or other strategic priorities,” Etudor says.
His perspective increasingly includes digital transformation and artificial intelligence. But Etudor believes companies should first establish a strong foundation of reliable information before expecting advanced technologies to deliver meaningful results.
“Artificial intelligence can be extremely powerful, but it is only as effective as the information behind it. Before companies focus on AI, they need to make sure they have intelligent, reliable data,” he says.
With experience leading organizations of more than 100 professionals and managing complex supply networks across multiple regions, Etudor views resilience as a combination of technology, operational discipline and strategic thinking.
“In energy, resilience is not simply a competitive advantage. It is essential to keeping operations running when markets, logistics networks and global conditions change,” Etudor concludes.
His career reflects a broader evolution in supply chain management: from a function traditionally focused on moving materials and controlling costs to a strategic discipline capable of protecting margins, releasing capital and strengthening the ability of energy companies to operate in an increasingly unpredictable global environment.
